Sydney

Monday:   This was our Ferry hopping day with Trish and Pete. For $20 we got a Multi Day pass for the Ferries We started at 10:30am by taking the ferry to Manly Beach where we took a quick stroll down the main street onto the beach area which is about three times the size of Bondi Beach and then walked on the Corso which is the promenade. We then returned to Circular Quay and went to the Man of War pub for our first pint of the day afterwards we took a ferry to Watson's bay for lunch. We returned to Circular Quay and took another ferry to Kirribilli where we met a man from Perth who told us to go on the Cocktoo Island ferry so off we went on that adventure. By the time we got back we were tired and thirsty we stopped at our apartment to freshen up then went to the oldest pub in Sydney called The Lord Nelson Pub. Pete wanted to find a pub he had been to some years ago and with the help of a young Auzzie who was having a night on the town we found The Hero of Waterloo Pub which was slightly of the beaten track. The barman was from Co. Tipperary and played old Irish songs the likes of which we never hear in Ireland anymore. The beer and the craic was mighty and after one more for the road we made our way back to the Rocks. We then all felt a little Peckish so we had Pork Crackle red cabbage and good German beer.  Unfortunately we had to end the night so Trish and Pete could catch the last train home. It was great to spend the day together we had alot of laughs. MR&K
