Sydney Feb 10th

Where we chose to stay is a beach area called Manly two ways of getting here are by bus or ferry from Sydney harbour. We love the 30min ferry and bought a Multi Pass for one week that we can use on the ferry,trains or buses for $44 each great value. The day started with a swim in the rather cool Pacific. It surprised me I thought it would be warmer but it was lovely once I got in. Families over from Sydney were everywhere the sun was shining and it was hot. Later that afternoon the weather changed to rain:( as we took the ferry over to the Sydney Opera house to see "Great Opera Hits on a Sunday Afternoon" performed by some of the top Opera Australia singers. It was wonderful just to be in the opera house itself the performance was outstanding we really enjoyed it. Later we had supper in the Harbour watching the hundreds of people out having a great time with plenty of live music everywhere. It was also the Chinese New Year with lots of celebrations going on. The weather is going to be wet and cool for the next few days but we don't mind too much as there are lots of things to see and do in and around Sydney. Mary Rose
